Director of Clinical Operations, Strategy, and Innovation
Company: Devoted Health
Location: Remote (United States)
Job Type: Full-Time
Requisition ID: R3817
Compensation: $182,000 – $247,000 annually + Equity & Bonus Eligibility
About Devoted Health
Founded in 2017, Devoted Health is on a mission to dramatically improve the health and well-being of older Americans. We believe in caring for everyone like they are family, and that includes our employees. Our seamlessly integrated care platform merges advanced data and AI with world-class clinical and service experiences to create a member experience that is unlike the industry norm. We are a high-trust, flat organization built on clear thinking, speed, and tangible clinical results.
The Opportunity
As the Director of Clinical Operations, Strategy, and Innovation, you will be a core operational architect driving organization-wide efforts to deliver best-in-class clinical outcomes for hundreds of thousands of members. This is an executive-adjacent, high-ownership role that combines strategic problem-solving, rapid-cycle experimentation, and rigorous operational execution across complex, cross-functional systems.
While our specific needs evolve quickly, your work will directly impact:
Making Care Seamless: Streamlining care coordination (e.g., optimizing lab turnaround times and preventative screenings).
Expanding Member Reach: Deepening member engagement across clinical services and communication channels.
Optimizing Member Encounters: Driving process performance to deliver, evaluate, and refine high-impact care actions.
Scaling Capabilities: Building and expanding cross-channel clinical programs to meet members exactly where they are.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Architecture: Design organization-wide strategies and system workflows that directly improve core operational and clinical outcome metrics.
Cross-Functional Execution: Partner seamlessly with clinical, product, technology, and frontline teams to take initiatives from the pilot phase to full-scale, national rollout.
Data-Driven Performance: Analyze operational variability, build decision frameworks, and pinpoint performance drivers using rigorous, probabilistic data models.
Servant Leadership: Manage teams directly and through lateral influence, prioritizing workflows that enable, empower, and unblock our frontline clinicians.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of high-ownership operational leadership in complex, fast-moving, or highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare operations, tech ops, marketplace ops, or strategy & operations).
System Architecture & Scale: A proven track record of mapping, optimizing, and scaling cross-functional processes that drive core business and clinical metrics.
Advanced Data Fluency: Comfortable building quantitative models, evaluating experiments probabilistically, and distinguishing true signal from data noise.
High-Velocity Execution: The ability to seamlessly bridge macro-level strategy with hands-on problem solving (e.g., fixing a workflow manually today while building the automated solution for tomorrow).
Influence & Leadership: Experienced in guiding cross-functional teams directly and laterally with a frontline-first, low-ego mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience mastering intricate operational domains quickly (healthcare or value-based care experience is a strong plus).
Pragmatic curiosity around modern tech tools (e.g., leveraging LLMs or AI prompting to optimize daily operational workflows).
High comfort with ambiguity and rapid change cycles in a growth-stage environment.
Compensation & Total Rewards
Base Salary: $182,000 – $247,000 annually (Final offer will be based on qualifications, experience, and location).
Equity: Stock options granted to all employees.
Health & Wellness: Employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision plans with low or no premiums.
Time Off: Generous paid time off and a comprehensive parental leave program.
Remote Support: $100 monthly mobile or internet stipend.
Retirement: 401(k) program with company match.
Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
