Executive Search Firm: Morgan Philips

Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

Function: Renewable Energy Strategy and Business Development
Reporting Structure: Senior group leadership
Base Salary: €260,000–€280,000 annually
Additional Compensation: Performance incentives and other executive benefits to be confirmed directly with the employer.
Travel: Frequent European travel.
Important application status: This opportunity was advertised in July 2026. Its listing is accessible, but I have not independently verified that applications remain open as of November 5, 2026. The hiring organisation has not been publicly named.
Executive Mandate
The position is centred on establishing and developing a European renewable energy business, with responsibility for strategic direction, commercial expansion, industrial partnerships and the development of innovative energy solutions.
The executive will be expected to:
Define and execute the European renewable energy business strategy.
Identify emerging energy technologies and opportunities for commercial development.
Develop commercially viable business models and investment proposals.
Establish strategic partnerships across the European energy industry.
Identify opportunities to expand the organisation's renewable energy portfolio.
Lead commercial negotiations and develop relationships with major industrial stakeholders.
Translate strategic opportunities into operational and commercial projects.
Establish performance objectives and oversee business development activities.
Develop and lead a high-performing European organisation.
Contribute to investment decisions, business planning and long-term growth.
Build relationships with industrial customers, investors and strategic partners.
Represent the business in senior-level industry and commercial discussions.
Executive Requirements
The organisation is seeking an experienced senior executive with:
Significant leadership experience within the energy sector.
Strong commercial and strategic business-development capabilities.
Experience developing innovative energy solutions.
Understanding of European energy markets and industrial partnerships.
Experience building business operations and commercial relationships.
Strong financial and investment decision-making capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.
Strong executive communication and negotiation skills.
The ability to translate emerging technologies into commercially sustainable business opportunities.
Experience in offshore wind, marine renewable energy, floating wind technology and industrial energy development would be relevant additional strengths, although these are not expressly stated as mandatory requirements in the published listing.
Why I Believe It Warrants Your Consideration
What makes this opportunity interesting in relation to your background is the combination of entrepreneurial leadership and technology development you have demonstrated through EOLINK.
Your experience taking a floating wind turbine concept through development and industrial advancement provides a perspective that extends beyond conventional renewable energy management.
Your earlier involvement with France Energies Marines also demonstrates familiarity with the marine renewable energy ecosystem, including the technical and institutional environment in which offshore energy technologies develop.
I see potential relevance in the opportunity to apply that experience to a broader European business leadership responsibility, particularly around commercial development, strategic partnerships, industrialisation and renewable energy expansion.
However, I would also want to establish whether the organisation's commercial energy focus and the actual responsibilities of the position are sufficiently aligned with your specialist offshore wind experience before suggesting a formal application.
Compensation & Executive Package
The published annual base salary range is €260,000–€280,000.
The broader executive package should be clarified with the hiring organisation and may be discussed around:
Annual executive performance bonus.
Long-term incentive or equity participation, if available.
Executive pension contributions.
Private healthcare coverage.
Life and disability insurance.
Executive mobility or company vehicle allowance.
Business travel and accommodation expenses.
Relocation assistance, where applicable.
Paid annual leave and other senior leadership benefits.
