Head of Investment Strategy

Executive Mandate

The position is responsible for leading investment strategy, identifying strategic growth opportunities and supporting the development and execution of major investment initiatives across Abu Dhabi Airports' infrastructure and aviation-related portfolio.

The executive will be expected to:

Develop and execute the organisation's long-term investment and corporate development strategy.

Identify infrastructure investment opportunities across airport operations, aviation-related assets, real estate and associated infrastructure.

Lead the identification and evaluation of potential acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures and commercial partnerships.

Evaluate greenfield and brownfield infrastructure investment opportunities.

Develop investment proposals, financial models, commercial assessments and strategic recommendations for senior management.

Lead and coordinate M&A activities, including transaction assessment, due diligence, financial evaluation and negotiations.

Evaluate project finance structures, capital requirements, debt and equity arrangements and potential investment partnerships.

Identify opportunities involving public-private partnerships, concession agreements and long-term infrastructure development arrangements.

Engage with institutional investors, government authorities, financial institutions, infrastructure developers and international strategic partners.

Assess investment risks, commercial returns, capital allocation requirements and long-term value creation opportunities.

Work closely with finance, legal, commercial and operational teams to ensure investment proposals are commercially and strategically viable.

Support executive investment committees and senior management in evaluating major investment decisions.

Develop strategic relationships with international infrastructure investors, airport operators and other relevant industry participants.

Contribute to the organisation's wider growth strategy and international investment opportunities.

Provide executive-level advice on infrastructure investment priorities, financing strategies and commercial partnerships.

Executive Requirements

The organisation is seeking an experienced infrastructure investment or corporate development executive with:

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.

An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.

Substantial senior-level experience in infrastructure investment, project finance, corporate development or strategic financial advisory.

Demonstrated experience in originating, evaluating and executing complex infrastructure investment transactions.

Strong knowledge of PPP structures, concession agreements, project financing and infrastructure development.

Experience with M&A, financial due diligence, investment assessment and transaction structuring.

A strong understanding of debt and equity financing, capital allocation and investment risk management.

Experience engaging with government institutions, sovereign stakeholders, institutional investors and international financial partners.

The ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and manage multidisciplinary transaction teams.

Strong financial modelling, commercial assessment and investment strategy capabilities.

An established professional network across infrastructure, energy, utilities, transportation or related investment sectors.

Experience in the Middle East and familiarity with the UAE investment environment would be particularly valuable.

Previous exposure to aviation infrastructure, airport investments, transportation concessions or large-scale infrastructure operations would be advantageous.
