  • Managing and continuously improving HSE&S management systems, procedures, and performance indicators to support safe and compliant operations.
  • Leading risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations while ensuring effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Driving continuous improvement in HSE&S performance through the analysis of KPIs, audits, inspections, and incidents.
  • Maintaining constructive relationships with regulatory authorities and representing the sites during inspections, audits, and permitting processes.

  • Supporting projects, maintenance shutdowns, and operational activities through the timely identification and management of HSE&S risks.
  • Coordinating and continuously improving crisis management, emergency response, and preparedness programmes.
  • Initiating, leading, and supporting continuous improvement programmes aimed at further enhancing HSE&S performance and operational excellence.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing employees and specialists within the HSE&S function.

Required Qualifications and Experience
We expect you to bring:

  • A completed HVK qualification, higher professional education (HBO), university degree (WO) in Safety Science, or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience within the chemical or process industry, including demonstrable experience in an HSE&S leadership position.
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to safety, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety.
  • Knowledge and experience of Seveso requirements and associated management systems.
  • Experience advising management teams and working within complex stakeholder environments.
  • Organizational awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively with different disciplines and stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of decision-making processes within government authorities.
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English.

You will also participate in the site's on-call and crisis management organization and must be available outside normal working hours to respond to HSE&S-related incidents and escalations.

We believe you:

  • Always put safety first.
  • Are proactive and identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
